Baikal Giant-A900 is a miner model which currently supports six algorithms including X11, X13, X14, X15, Quark and Qubit. It’s most distinct quality is its remarkable ratio of hash rate/power consumption, 900MH/217watt ratio, which is very advantageous.
In this tutorial, we will show you step by step about how to set up the miner and start Dash mining in minutes.

Preparations
First, some knowledge about the X11 algorithm, the currency and pools would be helpful. (Check the resource guide in our blog Dash: The Complete Guide to start).
You need to choose one of the mining pools and create a mining worker in that pool. Also, it is recommended that you take a look at the “Help” section of your mining pool.
In our tutorial, we will use the coinmine.pl mining pool for DASH mining.
Get Your PSU Ready
- The miner comes with NO integrated PSU. If you also bought the 750w mining PSU from EastShore, please check here for the PSU setting-up.
- Otherwise, you need to get a PSU >= 300w with 6pin x 2 (or 8pin x 2) for the miner.
Miner Connection
- This is how you’ll receive the miner from EastShore.
- Take out your miner from the box. There are two blades in the miner.
- And an Orange Pi on the top of the miner, which is the controller of the miner.
- There are some ports on the controller. Let’s take a closer look.
- There are some cables included in the package, one is the USB Cable, other two cables are Blade Cables. Those cables are used to:
- USB Cable: connect the miner to the controller
- Blade Cables: connect two blades together. (ONLY ONE NEEDED)
- There are some ports on one end of the miner. However, we don’t need all of those ports. In fact, we ONLY need the ports in the RED circle in the following picture.
- Important: DON’T use other ports except for the ones in the red circle.
- Those ports are:
- 8PIN ports for PSU: Two 8PIN Ports(also works for PSU with 6pin connectors) for PSU. To connect your PSU(power supply) to the miner.
- Blade Connect Ports: Two Blade Connect Ports. To connect the two blades together via the Blade Cable mentioned above.
- USB Port: One USB Port. To connect the miner to the controller via the USB Cable mentioned above.
- Ok, let’s start the connection.
- First, connect the power cable for the controller.
- Then, connect the miner with the controller via the USB Cable.
- Connect the two blades together via the Blade Cable. We need ONLY ONE Blade Cable for the connection.
- Now, let’s connect your PSU to the miner via the two 8PIN ports on the miner. The ports on the miner are 8PIN ports. However, it works for 6PIN connector too. So, if your PSU is the one with two 6PIN connectors, that’s fine.
- If your PSU has 6PIN connectors, please note: You should use the upper six PINs of the LEFT 6PIN ports on the miner, and the lower six PINs of the RIGHT 6PIN ports on the miner. Otherwise, it cannot fit in.
- Here is a connection example of the LEFT 8pin ports.
- OK, connection done.
- Doublecheck your connection.
- For miner configuration, please connect the miner to the LAN port on the same router which your computer is also connected to. The miner is stand-alone, your computer is just needed for configuration.
- Let’s power on the miner.
Mining Guide
The mining guide of the Baikal Giant-A900 X11 Miner is exactly the same as the Baikal Mini 150MH X11 miner. So the following section is from the Baikal miner setting tutorial.
- Make sure you connected the miner properly. Power on your PSU and the switch on the miner.
- Waiting for 1~3 minutes. (The miner needs about 1~3 minutes to initialize itself. Please wait patiently.)
- Scan the IP address of your miner: The “Network Protocol” of the miner is “DHCP”. The IP address will be different under different networks. You can refer to this blog for scanning instructions: https://www.eastshoremining.com/how-to-scan-out-the-configuration-ip-address-of-the-miner/
- Log into the miner configuration page: Open your Internet browser, such as Google Chrome, IE etc. and open the IP address you just scanned (For example, 192.168.1.217). The password is “baikal“.
- Sometimes, you may not be able to log into the configuration page immediately, please just wait for about 1 minutes then try to log again.
- Then, the “Homepage” of the miner will display.
- For the first time you log in, the configuration page might show something like “No devices running” and there is no other data shown. And the upper left corner of the page may be showing “Miner DOWN“. Please just wait for a while, until there is some devices and pools data showing.
- Click the “Miner” tab on the top of the page for mining account setting.
- Before setting your mining account, you should first take a look at the “GETTING STARTED GUIDE” page of your mining pool to know the mining URL of your pool. For example, we tested the miner in the pool CoinMine.pl. According to its GETTING STARTED GUIDE page, we create the mining worker “eastshore” in our pool account, and set our pool URL of the miner as:
Pool1 URL: stratum+tcp://mine1.coinmine.pl:6099
Pool1 Worker: eastshore.1
Pool1 Password: 123
- On the “Miner” setting page, you can add a mining account by clicking “Add pool” or delete a mining account record by clicking the little “x” as shown in the picture below.
- You can also use the “predefined pools” to add an account setting. By clicking one of the pool, then the default setting will be loaded.
- After setting your mining account details, please save the setting by clicking “Save pools“. (The “Save pools” button will appear automatically after changes made. Otherwise, the button will be hidden.
- You don’t need to change anything else on the “Miner” setting page. (For example, the “SCMINER Options” )
- Wait for 1~3 minutes, then the miner will reload the mining setting and start mining with the mining account you just set.
- Navigate to the homepage by clicking the red circle in the following picture.
- You can check the mining details on the configuration homepage. The mining speed showing here will be refreshed every 5 seconds.
- If your miner works perfectly, you don’t need to change anything else(including other settings in “Settings”, “Backup”, “Terminal” tabs). If you don’t know what you are doing, don’t tweak it.
- Now, you are all set up. Let the beautiful machine work and earn money for you.
Reburn Image
In some cases, if your machine is experiencing problems, you may want to try to reinstall the mining system.
