Troubleshooting for Antminer Common External Problems IMG 01

This is truouleshooting for Antminer common problems. Besides the suggestions in Tutorial: General Mining Guide & TroubleShoot for Antminer Models, here are some more troubleshooting ways.

Problem 1:

  • Insufficient hashrate;
  • Hashboard offline;
  • Pool connection failed

Probable external causes: grounding problem, electric leakage

Solutions: ask your electrician to conduct grounding

Problem 2:

  • Miner automatic restart;
  • Unstable hashrate;
  • Aforesaid problems occur randomly

Probable external cause: network problem

Solutions: ask network engineer to screen possible causes

Problem 3: miner keeps restarting

Probable external causes and solutions:

  • Low voltage: ask electrician to screen possible causes
  • Electric leakage: ask your electrician to conduct grounding
  • Hashboard damaged: request for warranty repair
  • Control board damaged: request for warranty repair

Problem 4: Undesirable environment

Probable external causes: dust, hot temperature, high humidity, high salinity

Solutions: create environment with better air quality

Problem 5:

  • Insufficient hashrate;
  • Hashboard offline;
  • No hashrate

Probable external causes: low temperature less than 5℃

Solutions: increase ambient temperature

Problem 6: power off accidentally during firmware upgrading; when powered on, the miner doesn’t work.

Reason: control board damaged due to power off in the upgrading process.

Solution: request for warranty repair

Problem 7: stay on the same page during upgrading without auto jumping

Probable external causes: crash during upgrading, maybe the problem of browser with IE kernel

Solutions: Firefox, Google Chrome are recommended.

Problem 8: cannot power on, all lights are off and the fan doesn’t run when connected to the power supply.

Solutions:

  1. Replace power supply. If the problem still exists, try next step;
  2. Only supply power for control board, if the problem still exists, try next step;
  3. Only supply power for control board and unplug all cables on it; if the problem still exists, try next step;
  4. Then it is confirmed it’s the problem of short circuit of the control board, request for warranty repair.

Problem 9: red light flashes

Possible causes and solutions:

  • High temperature -> lower the temperature of the miners.
  • Disconnection from network -> check the network and reconnect.

Problem 10: green light is always on

Possible causes and solutions:

Problem 11: both red light and green light are off

Possible causes and solutions:

  • The fan is broken -> exchange the fan or request for warranty repair.

Problem 12: red light flashes and green light is off

Possible causes and solutions:

  • IP conflict -> reset miners and set all miners as DHCP.
  • IP duplication (one static and one dynamic) -> set all as static IP address or DHCP.

The following troubleshooting is about analysis and solutions on network port light. Background knowledge:

  • Normal: Yellow light is always on, green light flashes
