Recently, Bitmain has released a new miner for Bytom mining. It’s said that it is capable of AI calculation. Is it so miraculous?
If you want to know whether it is as miraculous as be reported, please stay with us for more details!
Basic Parameters
Brand | Antminer B3 |
Hashrate | 780 H/s (+/-5%) @ Bytom |
Power consumption | 360w |
Size | 312mm* 124mm* 154mm |
Unpacking Photos
The external packaging of B3 is no different from other Antminer series, so it’s unnecessary to make detailed introductions here. After being unpacked, we can see the miner is protected by EPE foams. The mining workers with Antminers should be very familiar with it.
Now, let’s have a look at the real appearance of Antminer B3! In fact, it is not much different from other miners since the real difference relies on the chips. Similarly, it adopts the design of dual-fan in the front and rear with three hashboard. The hashboard can be seen from above. On the front side, we can see the IP button, network cable socket, reset button, status indicators, etc.
Installation and Setting-up
The test uses Antminer APW3++ power supply, which is available on EastShore Mining Devices. The Antpool is used as the mining pool and the installation are the same as other Antminer series. The mining workers who can use Antminer S9 will surely be able to use B3.
Please refer to our tutorial Tutorial: General Mining Guide & TroubleShooting for Antminer Models for detailed installation and setting-up.
Noise and Heat
In the PPS mode of Antpool, it was tested in a 30m2 conference room with 25℃ indoor temperature. The test on heat and noise was conducted after 24 hours of running.
The measured noise about 10cm away from the air inlet is about 74dB; about 10cm away from the air outlet is 82dB; about 1 meter away the noise is 71dB.
After 24 hours of running, we can see the temperature of Antminer B3 hashboard is about 30℃ and the chip temperature is 36℃ on the mining status page, which we can see that the temperature of B3’s hashboard and chip is lower than that of other miners.
Hashrate and Power Consumption

Power Consumption of Antminer B3
The rated hashrate of Antminer B3 is 780H. In actual test, the hashrate is about 790H/s, which is 1.3% higher than the rated value. The rated power consumption is 360W, the actual tested value is 320W, which is also 11% lower than the nominal value. Based on the actual tested values, the power consumption for hashrate per H is 0.4W/H. The hashrate curve on the mining status page also seems to be very stable.
Summary
We can say that the current benefit of Antminer B3 is very satisfactory, so all the mining workers just take actions quickly to conduct mining. Moreover, BTM is a very promising public chain and it has also been introduced on the main network recently with great potential of price increase in the future, so it’s a nice choice to buy B3 for BTM mining!
