Fusionsilicon X7, a Dash miner based on X11 algorithm, was released by Shenzhen Fusionsilicon Company in early 2019. Before we start to unbox the miner, we’d better firstly understand what Dash stands for.

What is Dash

Dash is an anonymous cryptocurrency which enables instant and anonymous payment over a distributed master node network. The total amount of Dash is approximately 18.9 million, which will be exhausted in 2300.

Dash is issued every 2.5 minutes and about 550 blocks are created per day. At present, the hashrate of Dash network is about 4.2P. On the Dash network there are 4,936 active master nodes. Among the block rewards, the mining worker accounts for 45% and the Dash budget system accounts for 10%. The block reward now is 3.11 DASH and the reward for the worker is 1.55 DASH.

Fusionsilicon X7 can be connected to the 6PIN miner power supply. The solder joints at the interface are rounded. The cushions between the hash board and the casing can effectively prevent scratching.

Each of the three hash boards requires three pieces of 6PIN power supplies. Considering the power supply for the control board, a total of 10 6PIN power cables are required. The only shortcoming of Fusionsilicon X7 is that the 6PIN power interface is not designed to prevent misconnection. People have to pay special attention to the plug direction to prevent misconnection.

Brief Mining Guide

The use of Fusionsilicon X7 is very similar to that of Fusionsilicon X1. The following briefly introduces the mining steps of Fusionsilicon X7. For detailed mining tutorials, please refer to: Tutorial: FusionSilicon X1 12.5GH Lyra2rev2 Miner

  • Insert the power cords of hash board and control board
  • Insert network cable
  • Power on
  • Search miner IP address
  • Input miner IP address in browser
  • Input password “fusion” to enter the configuration page
  • Select “Miner Configuration” to modify mining information
  • Click on the “save&apply” on the lower right corner to complete the setup to start mining.

The “Mining Staus” page of Fusionsilicon X7 is simple and straightforward. The upper side shows the hashrate of the three hash boards. The “Restart” button can easily restart the miner. The four main menus are Miner Status, Configuration, Network and System. The information such as the operation time, real-time hashrate, average hashrate and receiving information of the pool are displayed very clearly.

Performance Test

Mining in the f2pool(wallet anonymous mining is supported) shows that the hashrate fluctuations are not big and the 24-hour average exceeds the officially released 262G, that is, between 266 and 274G.

Summary

DASH, formerly known as Dark Coin, is a technical improvement based on Bitcoin. It has good anonymity and decentralization. It is the first cryptocurrency to protect privacy. We introduced some features of Dash before, please refer to: What’s the Charm of DASH?

At present, ASIC miners are used to mine DASH, including Antminer D5, Fusionsilicon X7, StrongU U6, Innosilicon A5 etc. Relatively speaking, Fusionsilicon X7 has a hashrate of 262G with a power consumption of 1420w. The comprehensive cost performance is relatively high. Those interested in DASH mining can give it a try.
